Important Travel Information
This is a self-drive holiday. You collect your rental car at Tirana International Airport and drive independently between the included hotels. Transfers between destinations are not included.
The displayed itinerary is our recommended seven-night route. Available hotels, vehicles and prices depend on the selected travel dates. The final price will be confirmed before payment.
The standard vehicle currently displayed is a manual-transmission car. Customers requiring an automatic vehicle should select one during booking, subject to availability and an additional charge.
The principal driver must present a valid physical driving licence, passport and credit card in their own name when collecting the vehicle. An International Driving Permit may be required when the original licence is not written in the Latin alphabet or when requested by the rental company.
A security deposit will normally be blocked on the principal driver’s credit card. The amount and release conditions are determined by the rental company.
Albania’s principal roads are generally suitable for a normal passenger car, but parts of the Riviera route are mountainous, narrow and winding. Drive carefully, allow more time than indicated by navigation applications and avoid driving after dark whenever possible.
The journey across the Llogara Pass is exceptionally scenic, but visibility and road conditions may change during poor weather. Always follow local signs and official instructions.
The journey from Ksamil through the Blue Eye and Gjirokastër to Berat is a long sightseeing day. Customers should leave early, refuel before departure and allow sufficient time for stops.
July and August are the busiest months along the Albanian Riviera. Hotels, parking and beaches can become crowded, particularly in Dhërmi, Himarë and Ksamil. May, June and September usually provide warm weather with fewer visitors.
Some smaller restaurants, beach facilities and parking areas accept cash only. It is advisable to carry Albanian lek, particularly outside the larger towns.
Entrance fees, beach-chair rentals and parking charges are not included unless specifically shown during booking.
The rental vehicle may not be taken across an international border or transported by ferry without the rental company’s prior written permission.
